The Preserve Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall management, supervision of seasonal staff and volunteers, and safety of Palmyra Preserve operations. The PM oversees the maintenance of Preserve facilities and equipment—including generators, marina & boats, photovoltaic systems, runway, kitchen and housekeeping services—and coordinates support for visitor and research trips.
Starting pay is $3,000 biweekly (gross). Returning Palmyra staff receive higher rates based on experience.
The assignment takes place on Palmyra Atoll, a remote island 1,000 mi south of Hawai‘i. Board and lodging are provided during the three-month seasonal assignment.
