The Library of Congress seeks highly talented professionals to join a vibrant and collaborative community. This position reports to the Chief, Preservation Research and Testing Division (PRTD), Preservation Directorate, to support scientific analysis and research for the preservation of Library collections.

The incumbent provides assistance to PRTD programs and projects involving testing of materials used to exhibit, house, or store collections to ensure they meet current Library specifications.

Qualifications

• Assist in scientific analysis and research related to preservation.
• Develop and maintain scientific reference collections.
• Test materials used to exhibit, house, or store collections.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Chief, Preservation Research and Testing Division (PRTD).
• Support PRTD programs and projects involving scientific analysis and testing for preservation of holdings.
• Ensure materials meet current Library specifications for exhibit, housing, and storage.
