Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Position Overview
As a Presenter/Emcee, you will deliver our signature “Celebration of Life” fetal development and live ultrasound presentations to grade school students (K–5th grade). You’ll serve as the primary face of our program for younger audiences, engaging students, introducing team members, and facilitating fun, age‑appropriate discussions that align with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main presenter for “Celebration of Life” presentations, adapting content for both K–3rd and 4th–5th grade audiences.
  • Introduce team members and outline the presentation agenda for attendees.
  • Begin and end presentations with music—ability to play guitar, piano, or another instrument and/or lead vocals is preferred.
  • Share relevant Scripture and age‑appropriate, fun fetal development facts (you will be trained on how to deliver this).
  • Respond to student questions with sensitivity and age‑appropriate, engaging guidance.
  • Follow the established curriculum while demonstrating flexibility, improvisation, and a fun approach as needed.
  • Set up and take down technical equipment for presentations.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Director of Operations, including email updates and participation in preparation meetings.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement improvements to presentations and processes.

*Thorough training will be provided.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A love and passion for working with young children is a must.
  • Experience working with grade school students.
  • Exceptional public speaking and stage presence.
  • Ability to engage and interact positively with school and church staff.
  • Commitment to Heart of a Child Ministries’ mission and core values.
  • Musical ability is highly preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, elementary education, theology, music, theatre, or a science related field working with fetal development preferred; equivalent experience in children’s education, ministry or a science-related field working with fetal development will be considered.
Application Instructions

Compensation Details

  • Speaker/Emcee: $50/hour
  • Travel: $20/hour
  • Setup/Takedown: $30/hour
