Job summary

The Greater Waterbury YMCA is seeking a Preschool Teacher to assist the Lead Teacher in implementing developmental learning experiences in a nurturing environment. Responsibilities include health and safety of children, lesson planning, conducting evaluations, and maintaining communication with parents. A Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or equivalent education is required. The ideal candidate has effective communication skills, knowledge of child development standards, and the ability to relate to diverse community groups.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or equivalent qualifications.
• An Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Prior completion of Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, and related trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher to create and implement lesson plans.
• Promote and ensure the health and safety of children.
• Participate in weekly swim lessons with the children.
• Maintain accurate records for Nutrition and School Readiness reports.
