Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) Nyssa site is hiring a Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team. You will assist the lead teacher to create a positive, developmentally appropriate environment and help implement the daily schedule and activities.

You will observe and document child progress, communicate with families about health and development, and participate in staff trainings. A strong commitment to safety, wellness, and inclusive practice is essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• CDA certificate within 6 months from date of hire or equivalent.
• Oregon Registry Step 7+ or higher desirable.
• Enrollment in an associate/bachelor program in ECE encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support the classroom teacher in a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors using positive guidance.
• Assist with classroom setup, organization, cleaning, and inventory of materials.
• Support implementation of individualized curriculum and daily activities.
• Help balance teacher-directed and child-directed learning experiences.
• Maintain portfolios and documentation of children's progress.
• Communicate with the teacher regarding children's health, behavior and development.
• Support family engagement including conferences and home visits.
