Job summary

The Osher Marin Jewish Community Center is seeking a Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team in San Rafael/Mill Valley. The role focuses on nurturing young minds and fostering curiosity through a values-based learning framework guided by our Jewish traditions and community ethos.

You will provide care and support, help maintain engaging indoor and outdoor classrooms, and collaborate with teachers to implement the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Teacher-qualified individuals with a strong work ethic and love for children.
• Minimum 12 units in early childhood education and development.
• Experience with young children preferred; on the ECE path welcomed.
• Must meet licensing background check and Live Scan requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical and emotional care for children, including diapering, meals, nap time.
• Maintain indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Respectful and compassionate interactions with children.
• Provide supervision of children indoors and outdoors.
• Assist teachers with classroom duties and housekeeping tasks.
• Understand the school philosophy and curriculum approach.
• Maintain professional standards and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
• Experience in early childhood education is preferred.

Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Teacher, where your passion for nurturing young minds will inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. The JCC Preschools in San Rafael and Mill Valley are looking for teacher-qualified individuals with a strong work ethic and love for children. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

• Providing physical and emotional care for children, including diapering and/or changing, meals, nap time, and meeting needs as appropriate
• Maintaining an appropriate learning environment, both indoors and outdoors
• Respectful and compassionate Interactions with the children
• Providing supervision of children, both indoors and outdoors
• A willingness to assist teachers with children and other classroom housekeeping duties
• Understanding the philosophy of the school and approach to the curriculum
• Maintaining professional standards and conduct at all times
• Respecting confidentiality of school-related information
• Performing other duties, as requested by the supervisor.

We prefer hiring teachers who are professionally prepared as teachers of young children, with a minimum of 12 units in the field of early childhood education and development, however, we will consider other caring individuals, including anyone on the ECE path with experience with young children.

• Teachers must be sensitive in communicating with others and be able to relate professionally with children and adults.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to meet the employment requirements of the licensing agency including clear background check and Live Scan fingerprinting.
