Job summary

Merryhill School, part of Spring Education Group, seeks a Preschool Teacher to foster a safe, nurturing environment for infants through preschoolers, encouraging curiosity, independence, and confidence through purposeful play and hands-on learning.

You will plan age-appropriate curricula, collaborate with fellow educators, and maintain strong family communication while upholding health and safety standards in a developmentally rich setting.

Qualifications

• 12 semester ECE units or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development required.
• CDA certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient and caring.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum focusing on early literacy, language, math concepts, motor skills, and social-emotional growth.
• Create a classroom culture that nurtures individuality while promoting curiosity and confidence.
• Provide a structured yet playful environment through intentional activities.
• Collaborate with educators and school leadership to align with program goals.
• Maintain regular communication with families through daily updates, reports, and conferences.
• Ensure health and safety policies and licensing regulations are followed.

About the Role

As an Preschool Teacher at Merryhill School, you will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning by creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for our youngest students. Whether working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children, you will foster curiosity, independence, and confidence through purposeful play and hands‑on learning. Your classroom will be a warm, joyful space where each child feels supported and celebrated.

You will also:

• Plan, supervise, and implement age‑appropriate curriculum focused on early literacy, language development, math concepts, motor skills, and social‑emotional growth
• Create a classroom culture that nurtures each child’s individuality while promoting curiosity and confidence
• Provide a structured yet playful environment through intentional, developmentally appropriate activities
• Collaborate with fellow educators and school leadership to align with program goals and best practices
• Maintain regular, positive communication with families through daily updates, reports, and conferences
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, licensing regulations, and developmental standards

What We’re Looking For

• 12 semester (or 18 quarter) ECE units covering child development, child/family/community, and curriculum; or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development
• Child Development Associate Certification CDA) preferred
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Prior early childhood teaching experience preferred
• Ability to support a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
