Job summary

Agapé Child Care Learning Center in Illinois seeks a preschool teacher to lead a class through the school year, assess current levels, and design instruction to meet needs. Familiarity with Early Head Start and Head Start expectations is preferred.

You are passionate about learning, with strong creativity and problem-solving skills, and you'll engage individual students in an inviting classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet Illinois DCFS Teacher Qualifications
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field with ECE coursework)
• OR CDA with relevant experience
• Familiarity with Early Head Start and/or Head Start programs
• 1-2 years of experience in a licensed early childhood setting
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
• Problem-solving and mediation skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons for children
• Incorporate Head Start-aligned practices, including individualized learning
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress
