Job summary

Centro de la Familia seeks a Preschool Teacher to ignite curiosity and nurture a love of learning in young children. Join a team dedicated to inclusive, developmentally appropriate early childhood education in a Head Start-aligned program.

You will work full-time on-site in Colorado, plan engaging activities, support dual-language learners, collaborate with families, and participate in ongoing professional development to strengthen program quality and your growth as an educator.

Qualifications

• 2 years of early childhood education experience (preferred).
• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Arts (AA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Required).
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s permit required within six months of employment.
• Must be able to work with children with special needs and children with limited or no English.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, respected, and excited to learn each day.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Head Start standards and nurtures cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development.
• Incorporate play-based learning and hands-on activities that stimulate curiosity, foster creativity, and build foundational academic skills.
• Support dual-language learners by integrating language-rich experiences that honor both English and Spanish.
• Attend to daily care needs of children, including lifting, diapering, feeding with a bottle, assisting with toileting, and promoting healthy hygiene habits.
• Observe and assess children’s progress regularly, using observation notes, assessments, and screenings to tailor learning experiences.
• Collaborate closely with families, encouraging involvement through regular communication and conferences.
• Work effectively with children with special needs, ensuring inclusion and individualized support.
• Maintain accurate records related to attendance, assessments, family engagement, and health and safety protocols.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and team collaboration to improve program quality.

Guided by the Education Specialist, you will implement an early childhood education program that aligns with developmental, linguistic, and cultural norms. Your role will focus on meeting the unique and comprehensive requirements of preschool aged children while fostering close collaboration with parents and families, ensuring their active participation in their child's educational journey.
