Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking an Early Learning Para at Wright Elementary in Cedar Rapids, IA. This 3-hour-per-day paraeducator position supports preschool students four days a week at $16.25 per hour.

The role requires at least 12 college credits in early childhood education, a current CDA credential or equivalent certification, and the ability to work well with staff and students. Training in pediatric first aid/CPR is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have 12 credit hours in early childhood education and a current CDA credential or two years of post-secondary education or a Paraeducator certificate.
• Must obtain pediatric first aid and CPR.
• Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students.
• Work with students individually or in small groups under supervision of professional staff.
• Consistently monitor students' learning and behaviors.
• Be available for student needs including health, toileting, behavior, and self-help skills.
• Attend district workshops and trainings to continue learning about Early Childhood Education.
• Other duties as assigned.
