Job summary

Kamehameha Schools is recruiting Preschool Substitute Aide positions to support Ko'olau I & II Preschool Regions across locations in Hawaii, including Kane'ohe. This temporary, on-call role supports the Teacher and classrooms with developmentally appropriate activities and Hawaiian culture connections.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, and CDA/AA in Early Childhood Education are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to organize a high volume of varied work activities.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in daily classroom lessons with appropriate interactions, small group instruction, observations and assessment.
• Supervises student behavior independently and under Teacher direction using early childhood health and safety guidelines.
• Provides program and clerical support through snack pickup, attendance records, ordering and maintaining materials and supplies.
• Prepares materials for a safe, healthy classroom environment including daily snack prep and sanitizing; maintains centers and equipment.
• Participates in workshops and in-services to improve instructional skills and program quality.
