Job summary

Gateway Longview’s Therapeutic Preschool in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Speech Therapist to accurately assess assigned students' speech/language abilities and to formulate and implement appropriate I.E.P. goals and objectives, collaborating with teachers, families, and community partners to support each child’s communication development and educational success.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision

Qualifications

• New York State Certification as Teacher of the Speech/Hearing Impaired (Bachelor’s) or Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (Master’s) preferred.
• Certification or licensure is preferred but not required for all candidates.

Responsibilities

• Maintain direct clinical contacts with assigned students, individually and in groups.
• Assure timely completion of speech/language evaluations and referrals for admission to the program.
• Complete initial and update assessments, screenings, summaries, progress reports, contact notes, and other documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicate essential information with education staff and involved committees on Special Education or related professionals.
• Ensure speech/language development is incorporated into the education program and contribute to policy and practice revisions.
• Provide speech services at Therapeutic Preschool/Day School sites and in community sessions.
• Represent program through committee work and presentations within the agency and community.
• Other duties as assigned.
