Job summary

Qualifications

  • Education, training, skills and experience necessary to carry out the assignment, with experience working with preschool students and special needs students preferred.
  • Must meet federal minimum employment requirements: 18+, HS diploma or equivalent, and one of several qualifying assessments or degrees.
  • Right Response Training within 3-5 months of hire and annual renewal required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists certificated staff in a preschool special education program, instructing students individually or in small groups.
  • Supervises student behavior and activities; supports safety and daily routines.
  • Maintains communication with staff, parents, and volunteers regarding student progress.
  • Assists with personal care, mobility, and classroom setup as needed.
  • Records progress and participates in documentation and meetings as required.
