Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking an Early Learning Paraprofessional at Maple Grove Elementary School. The role supports students under teacher guidance, supervising and assisting with individual or small group activities, and monitoring learning and behavior throughout the day.

The position is 7.5 hours per day, four days a week (Mon-Thu) with a pay rate of $17.26 per hour. Start date is to be determined; candidates should have early childhood credits and a CDA, plus CPR/First

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education, a current CDA credential, two years post secondary education or Paraeducator certificate.
• Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR.
• Willingness to assume responsibility.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Enjoy working with preschool age children.
• Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students.
• Under the direction of professional staff work with students individually or in group settings.
• Consistently monitor student's learning and behaviors.
• Be available for any student need including health, toileting, behavior, and self help skills.
• To attend district workshops and trainings in order to continue learning about Early Childhood Education.
• Other duties as assigned.
