Job summary

Berks County Intermediate Unit is seeking a Frontline Applicant Tracking specialist for the Head Start program. This role focuses on coordinating mental health and classroom support services for preschool children in Berks County.

The incumbent will identify children with needs, review observations, and coordinate services with other specialists to support child development and well-being. Full-time, 10 months per year with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in psychology, behavioral health, social science, special education, or related field, with experience working with preschool age children.
• Knowledge of growth and development processes of young children.
• Knowledge and experience with mental health, behavioral health, social/emotional needs, and disability concerns.
• Knowledge of treatment strategies in child behavior management and IEP recommendations.
• Knowledge of agencies dealing with mental health and disability needs.
• Strong communication with professionals and families of children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the effective implementation of the Mental Health/Behavioral Health/Classroom Support Service Area of the Head Start Program.
• Work with other service area and center staff to identify children with special needs and behavioral/mental health needs.
• Coordinate services to enrolled children with mental health and/or behavioral issues with the assistance of other component specialists as needed.
