Job summary

Stratham Memorial School in Stratham, NH seeks an Educational Support Professional for Preschool for the 26-27 school year. You will assist certified staff with instructional activities and help maintain an inclusive, safe learning environment.

You will support reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction, work with small groups, prepare materials, and assist with field trips and parent communication as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework or passing of exam per No Child Left Behind Act desired.
• Experience with special needs students desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist professional staff in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepare instructional materials and strategies tailored to individual student needs.
• Maintain records of student learning and performance.
• Support classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions and keep students on task.
• Supervise non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, etc.).
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Create, copy and distribute educational materials.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement in student education.
• Assist students with special needs to maximize inclusion and learning.
• Participate in IEP process and support evaluation teams as needed.
• Assist students with activities of daily living as needed to maximize participation.
• Follow safety rules governing assistance for all students.
