Job summary

Early Education and Care, Inc. seeks a dedicated educator to provide a daily developmental classroom program for young children, while actively engaging parents and maintaining a safe, organized learning space.

The role involves creating weekly plans, supervising students, and participating in required trainings and staff meetings. The candidate should possess an AA in early childhood education (or related field) with willingness to pursue further education; a BA/BS is preferred.

Qualifications

• AA degree focusing on early childhood education or closely related field
• BA/BS in early childhood education or closely related field (18 credit hours in ECE/child development) preferred
• Extensive demonstrated experience with children and families required
• Minimum two years’ experience with children ages 0-5 years
• Enroll in required DCF training within 90 days; complete within 6 months
• Complete CPR/AED and First Aid certification from approved agency

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a daily classroom program that is developmental and age-appropriate
• Encourage parent involvement through ongoing communication
• Develop and post weekly lesson plans with diverse activities
• Supervise children and maintain safety and classroom environment
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings; maintain confidentiality
• Plan agency events and contribute resources for funding sources
