Job summary

Westminster Public Schools seeks an Educational Support Professional - Instructional Assistant for the Early Learning Center at Gregory Hill. The role is 7.5 hours per day, 210 days per year, with compensation between $21.75 and $25.30 per hour.

Primary duties include assisting with instruction, preparing materials, and supporting classroom safety. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 60-day preschool training, and preferred experience with young children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; preschool training due within 60 days of employment.
• Early Childhood Education Credential Level 1 Version 2.0 or higher, or completion within the first year.
• 2+ years of experience with children aged 3 months to 5 years preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment background screenings.
• Ability to work with and understand the needs of diverse students.
• Computer experience.
• Bilingual desired.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for activities designed by the teacher so they are ready when students arrive.
• Support a safe learning environment for all children.
• Assist with group or individual instruction.
• Ensure student safety across settings.
• Help develop weekly lesson plans with the classroom teacher.
• Collaborate with staff on building-wide responsibilities.
• Inform parents about upcoming events and opportunities for involvement.
• Complete clerical duties as assigned and maintain attendance and student records.
• Carry out other assigned duties as needed.
