Job Summary
Seeking a compassionate and dedicated Preschool Instruction Assistant (CNA) to support preschool students with special needs in a classroom environment. The selected candidate will work closely with teachers to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), provide instructional and personal care support, assist with daily classroom activities, and help ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing instructional objectives, behavioral strategies, and IEP goals.
- Support students individually and in small groups with academic, social, and daily living skills.
- Monitor student behavior and ensure the safe use of classroom equipment.
- Observe student progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with federal, state, and agency policies.
- Assist students with personal care, including toileting, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and lifting when needed.
- Transport students to classroom activities and appointments as required.
- Participate in professional development and required training sessions.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's Degree OR completion of 60 college credit hours OR a valid Paraprofessional Certification.
- Current Arizona Driver's License.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification (First Aid and Crisis Intervention certification required or must be obtained within the required timeframe).
- Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, reach, and assist students with physical needs.
- Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- American Sign Language (ASL) skills.
- Braille knowledge.
- Experience working with preschool children or students with developmental disabilities/special needs.
- Experience supporting students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
