Right At School is hiring a PreK Group Teacher in New York, NY. The role supports before/after school programs with a focus on engaging, age-appropriate activities and a safe, supervised environment.

Pay ranges $17.00–$20.00 per hour, with Monday–Friday split shifts: morning 7:00–8:25 and afternoon 2:50–6:30. Up to 25.42 hours weekly, contributing to a mission-driven team serving local students.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field.
• CDA plus 1 year of experience working with children under 5 years old.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum for diverse ages.

Educator Pay Rate: $17.00-$20.00 (based on education and experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Split Shift

Morning Shift: 7:00 AM - 8:25 AM

Afternoon Shift: 2:50 PM - 6:30 PM

This role may be scheduled for up to 25.42 hours per week

You’ll Drive The Mission By

• Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program's objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

New York State Requirements

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field

OR

• Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) AND At least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 5 years old

Ability To Meet State-specific Requirements

• First Aid and CPR-in-person training
• Cleared tuberculosis test
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
