Job summary

The Learning Experience is seeking a Preschool Cook in Renton, WA to prepare nutritious meals for preschool children, manage allergies, and ensure food safety compliance. The role emphasizes teamwork with the Center Leadership and strong communication with teachers and parents.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, at least 1 year of cooking experience, and the ability to obtain a food handling certificate within 90 days.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in food preparation or cooking in a business
• Food handling certificate or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook healthy meals for preschool children meeting nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate allergies to teachers daily with every delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure safe storage of food.
• Collaborate with Center Leadership to purchase food and supplies and keep inventory records as required by local/state agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude with parents and children.
• Be flexible and adaptable to daily childcare center needs.

As a Preschool Cook with us, you'll play a key role in making a difference in the lives of children, their families, and communities by cooking daily nutritious meals.

You will:

• Prepare, and cook healthy and delicious meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child in our center, ensuring their safety, and communicate any identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure food is stored properly.
• Collaborate with the Center Leadership team to purchase all necessary food and supplies and keep inventory records as local and state agencies require.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children, listen, and communicate effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the daily business needs of a childcare center.

If you have:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
