Job summary

Summit ESC is hiring a Preschool Classroom Assistant to support teachers and guide early learners in a Summit County preschool setting in Ohio. The role offers a 4-day work week, with one paid training day per month, and a package including sick leave and personal time.

Qualified applicants hold a High School Diploma and an Educational Aide Permit, with experience in early childhood and supporting children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children with the teacher during playground time, restrooms, hallways, snack/lunch, gross motor activities, and bus routines
• Help create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
• Assist in preparing teacher-made instructional materials
• Set up and clean up classroom centers (art, music, housekeeping, blocks, puzzles, and more)
• Help preschool children with daily living skills including removing coat, zipping, buttoning, tying shoes, and toileting
• All other duties as assigned

• Previous experience with early childhood children (preschool or kindergarten), early childhood training preferred
• Previous experience with working with children disabilities preferred
