Job summary

CenClear Child Services in Kentucky is seeking an early childhood assistant to support 3- to 5-year-olds. The role requires about 35 hours per week during the school year, with 30 minutes before and after class for preparation.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and is willing to obtain a CDA credential (training paid by CenClear). Clearances are required prior to hire; good health and a home phone are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Must obtain CDA credential; CenClear pays for this training.
• If no CDA, must attend Highly Qualified training within 90 days.
• Working phone at home required.
• Documented good physical health.
• Must obtain PA clearances before hire.

Responsibilities

• Work with children aged 3 to 5.
• Work ~35 hours per week during the school year with 30 minutes before/after class for prep.
• Assist the teacher with implementing child activities.
• Maintain an organized classroom and ensure student safety.
• Adhere to program regulations and provide coverage as needed.
• Attend required meetings and on‑the‑job training.
• Communicate with supervisor and monitor work email daily.

Qualifications Needed

What We're Looking For:

• Individuals must have or be willing to obtain the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential with hire. This training is paid for by CenClear.
• If an individual does not have a CDA they must be willing to attend the Highly Qualified training while pursuing a CDA within 90 days of hire.
• Working phone in your home
• Documented good physical health.
• Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire: PA State Police Criminal History, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History, and Mandated Reporting Certificate

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Work with children aged 3 to 5
• Work approximately 35 hours per week during the school year, in accordance with the school calendar. The schedule includes 30 minutes before and after class for daily preparation. Required summer training sessions apply.
• Assist the teacher with implementing child activities
• Set up and maintain an organized classroom environment
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students
• Adhere to program regulations and guidelines
• Provide coverage as needed for other duties or positions
• Additional hours could be provided for duties such as light cleaning, child transportation, and break coverage
• Maintain open communication with your supervisor
• Attend required meetings and on-the-job training
• Monitor and respond to work email as part of daily responsibilities
• Practice social responsibility by checking email daily and responding in a timely manner
• Maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality concerning information about CenClear staff, children, parents, consumers/clients, and families.
