Job summary

The Bear Creek School is seeking a caring and dependable Classroom Assistant to support students and teachers in creating a positive learning environment. You will provide classroom support, supervise students throughout the school day, assist with daily classroom operations, and help foster a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered community.

Responsibilities include arriving on time, preparing and maintaining the classroom, assisting teachers with materials, supervising recess, and supporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification (with epinephrine autoinjector) or obtain within 90 days of start date.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time to each class.
• Prepare and/or set up the classroom at the start of the day and clean it at the end of the day.
• Provide logistical support for teachers by copying, laminating, filing papers, and creating documents.
• Provide classroom instructional help as directed by the teacher.
• Help distribute snack by following school and parent guidance.
• Supervise students during drop-off and pick-up times including walking students to their cars.
• Escort students on school grounds including to the bathroom, out to recess, and to the health room.
• Supervise recess and create a nurturing and safe environment.
• Help to resolve student concerns, disturbances, and conflicts and report issues to the teacher.
• Support special events outside of school hours including Back to School BBQ, Christmas Concert, Evening of Artists, etc.
• Maintain workroom in an orderly fashion.
• Attend and contribute positively to professional development and collaborative meetings including monthly Classroom Assistant meetings, in-service training, and start of the year events.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
