Job summary

The Learning Experience in Waltham, MA is launching a brand-new preschool and seeks a Center Director to lead from day one. You’ll oversee opening activities, staff onboarding, licensing, and program quality to create a welcoming, high-quality learning environment.

You will build a strong teaching team, establish routines, and foster relationships with families and the community while guiding enrollment and sustained center growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading childcare centers.
• Experience opening new centers is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, onboard and develop the initial teaching and leadership team.
• Support pre-opening preparations, classroom readiness, and licensing requirements.
• Establish consistent classroom routines, operating procedures, and quality standards.
• Welcome prospective families, conduct tours, and support pre-opening enrollment.
• Build relationships with families and community partners.
• Coordinate with ownership and regional leadership on opening priorities and timelines.
• Create a positive, supportive team culture from day one.
• Lead the center through opening and into ongoing operations, enrollment growth, and family retention.
