Job summary

Sunnyside Unified School District is seeking an assistant to support supervision of preschool children during Parent meetings and district events. The role assists a teacher with general supervision and classroom management to ensure a safe, nurturing environment.

Under close supervision, you will participate in outdoor play, snack distribution, and personal hygiene activities while maintaining positive communication with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent must be on file.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Background check on file with Human Resources.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English may be required for some incumbents.

Responsibilities

• Helps to maintain health, safety and welfare of all children.
• Maintains classroom and playground areas clean and sanitary.
• Prepares materials for classroom activities.
• Supervises children during outdoor playtime and nap time.
• Supervises and participates in classroom activities.
• Distributes snacks.
• Assists children with personal hygiene such as bathroom use and hand washing.
• Communicates positively to parents.
• Interacts with the children in a positive manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
