Job summary

The YMCA of Greater San Francisco is hiring an Associate Preschool Teacher to support Teachers and Lead Teachers in creating a safe, nurturing classroom for children 0–6. You will help with lesson plans, supervision, and documentation while working across multiple classrooms.

You will contribute to a high‑quality program that aligns with Community Care Licensing regulations and YMCA policies, fostering family engagement and development.

Qualifications

• Must be 20+ years old
• Must hold or be eligible for a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (12 ECE core units and 16 general education units)
• Available Monday–Friday during program hours; 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week (ECE year‑round)
• Experience working with children aged 0–6 years
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
• CPR/First Aid certification from YMCA approved program
• TB test clearance prior to hire and every 2 years thereafter
• Immunization proof for Influenza, Pertussis, and Measles
• Physical health clearance prior to hire and every 2 years thereafter
• Fingerprint background clearance through Community Care Licensing

Responsibilities

• Assist with developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities for children ages 0–6
• Collaborate with teaching team to implement curriculum, routines, and classroom management
• Provide support across multiple classrooms by floating to assist where needed
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization of classrooms and play areas
