Job summary

Boyne City Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher for the Early Learners preschool program for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports the Lead Teacher in delivering developmentally appropriate instruction to 3- and 4-year-olds.

Qualifications include an associate degree in early childhood education or child development (CDA credentials preferred). District assistance is available to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• AA in early childhood education or child development preferred; district will assist in credentialing.
• Experience with preschool children is preferred; must communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Energetic, positive, and able to engage young learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional personnel in developing and presenting learning materials and exercises.
• Coordinate instructional efforts as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Present subject matter under teacher's guidance to students.
• Instruct and assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce concepts.
• Support developmentally appropriate positive discipline techniques.
• Observe and record student progress and keep data confidential.
• Maintain safety and supervise students in classrooms and on school grounds.
• Attend required activities and trainings to perform duties effectively.
