Job summary

St. John Neumann Catholic Preschool in Reston, VA seeks a part-time Assistant Teacher for our half-day Pre-k class, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. You will support the Lead teacher, help implement activities, and foster social-emotional growth in young children in a Catholic setting.

Minimum high school diploma required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred. Must be able to share Catholic faith with students and maintain a safe, welcoming classroom.

Qualifications

• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Supporting Lead teacher in implementing creative activities based on curriculum;
• Working with young children to promote social-emotional development as well as learning objectives;

Job Description

St. John Neumann Catholic Preschool seeks a part-time Assistant Teacher for our half day Monday-Friday Pre-k class. Applicant must love sharing their Catholic faith with students. Applicant must love working with young children and have several years of experiencedoing so. Assistant teachers must have a minimum of a High School Diploma - Early Childhood Education college coursework is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting Lead teacher in implementing creative activities based on curriculum;
• Working with young children to promote social-emotional development as well as working on learning objectives;
• Maintaining a neat, clean and safe classroom enviroment;
• Attending trainings, meetings and other Preschool events.

Part time hours are Monday - Friday 9 am to 12:30 pm.

This is an hourly position with starting pay of $15 to $16 an hour. We provide:
