Primrose School of West Orange is seeking an experienced Preschool Assistant Director to oversee daily operations, staff management, curriculum development, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. The role ensures the overall academic, social, and emotional development of children while modeling a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
• At least three years of Assistant Director experience in a preschool.
• Knowledge of current early childhood education best practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate staff performance, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and other laws are followed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with parents and communicate about children's progress.
• Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff.
• Participate in community outreach to raise awareness of the preschool.
• Collaborate with Leadership Team to provide feedback using tools and data.
• Work with teachers to identify opportunities and design improvement plans.
• Assist in other capacities as determined by the Director or designee.
