POS Professional Office Services, Inc. in Winter Haven, FL, seeks a full-time Prepress Print Technician to operate and maintain plate-making equipment and prepare digital files for production.

You will read shop tickets, implement advanced imposition strategies, manage color, and collaborate with design and production teams to meet deadlines. A minimum of 5 years in prepress, knowledge of printing processes and imposition software, and graphic design experience are required.

We are currently seeking candidates for a full-time Prepress Print Technician position at our Winter Haven, Florida location.

Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Operate and maintain plate-making equipment to produce high-quality printing plates and digital files.
• Read and understand shop order tickets.
• Implement advanced imposition strategies, ensuring optimal usage of paper, layout and margins to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
• Evaluate job requirements and recommend optimal imposition strategies, including work-and-turn, work and tumble, or gang runs, based on cost analysis and production needs.
• Color management responsibilities.
• Ensure plates are accurately prepared and free from defects.
• Routine cleaning and minor maintenance of the plate-making equipment. Help troubleshoot and resolve any plate-making issues.
• Collaborate with prepress, design, and production teams to ensure deadlines and project specifications are met.
• Prepares and optimizes client artwork for print, including design edits as needed.

Desired Skills And Experience

• 5 plus years of past experience in prepress field, preferred
• Strong knowledge of printing processes, plate-making equipment, and imposition software.
• Previous graphic design experience required.

• Basic math skills including ability to work with fractions, percentages and the X, Y coordinate system.
• Willingness to learn new skills, policies and procedures.

Starting hourly rate for this position will be $18.50 to $21.00 commensurate with experience with two performance reviews/potential increases during your first year!
