Job summary

You will work in a fast-paced environment, using hand and power tools, and coordinating with production and quality teams. First shift with an hourly rate of $17.00.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–12 months of experience in surface preparation or industrial painting.
• Experience preparing metal, plastic, or composite materials for painting.
• Ability to inspect components for surface quality and defects prior to painting.
• Familiarity with industrial painting processes, primers, coatings, and finishing techniques.
• Experience using hand and power tools related to surface preparation.
• Working knowledge of MRP or manufacturing systems preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, PPE requirements, and safe handling of paints, coatings, and industrial chemicals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal, plastic, and other materials for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and removing contaminants.
• Inspect parts for surface defects and contamination before painting or priming.
• Apply primers and touch-up topcoats according to specifications.
• Load and unload materials, parts, and finished products.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of paints, coatings, chemicals, and related materials.
• Operate, maintain, and clean preparation equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Use MRP systems to support production schedules and material availability.
• Collaborate with painters, production, and quality inspectors to meet requirements.
• Follow OSHA regulations and PPE guidelines.
