Prep operator trainee
York, PA

Summary: We are seeking a prep operator trainee to support North American Hydro division in York PA, In the position you will work on unique one-off components for some of the largest hydroelectric machines in the world. Cutting and rolling various thicknesses and grades of steel. This is a trainee position so all training is on the job training.

Responsibilities :

  • Operate forklift for moving small components.
  • Perform 15 ton or less overhead crane lifts.
  • Completion of blueprint reading classes.
  • Clean and protect parts.
  • Cutting plate on NC table.
  • Gas and plasma cutting bevels.
  • Grinding parts.
  • Hot forming.

Required Skills/Abilities :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional bending and twisting.
  • Able to lift 50 LBS on occasion.
  • Extended lengths of standing or sitting.
  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must wear all required PPE for job task.
