Job summary

Ocean Key Resort and Spa in Key West, FL is seeking a Prep Cook to join our award-winning culinary team. This full-time role supports Sunset Pier restaurant with prep, mise en place and kitchen duties in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Candidates should have 1-2 years related experience, be able to read English, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods. Excellent communication and a positive attitude are essential to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related experience required.
• Must be able to read English for preparing items using recipes.
• Must be able to exert physical effort in lifting up to 50 pounds
• Push/Pull 50+ pounds
• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
• Remain in mobile and standing position for at least 8 hours throughout work shift
• Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and with other departments and interdepartmentally
• Must have positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion food items according to recipes and standards.
• Assist kitchen staff during service to ensure smooth operation.
