Restaurant Associates in Newark, NJ is seeking a full-time Prep Cook for Audible at 33 Washington Street. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Two years of culinary experience in a restaurant environment are required, with pay ranging from $18.50 to $20.00 per hour.

As a Prep Cook, you will prepare items per recipes, follow HACCP guidelines, and support the Chef with production and station duties, including overtime opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Obtain daily production schedule and prep requirements from the Chef.
• Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.
• Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets. Taste completed meals to ensure quality.
• Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use.
• Store, label and date all food items according to policy. Follow HACCP guidelines.
• Complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required.
• Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Take orders from customer and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
• Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner.
• Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations.
• Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.

Prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

• Completes orders from steam tables and grill and serves customers at multiple stations.
• Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures after each use.
• Stores, labels and dates all food items according to policy.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Resolves customer concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
