Job summary

Postino Winecafe in Vernon Hills, IL invites energetic Prep Cooks to join as we open Illinois' first Postino. You will handle routine food prep, maintain cleanliness, and support line cooks in a fast-paced kitchen.

Requirements include 1 year in a full-service kitchen, strong knife skills, and a passion for fresh ingredients. We offer meal discounts, a 401K with company match, and opportunities to grow with a growing brand.

Qualifications

• 1 year of full-service restaurant kitchen cook experience.
• Associate's degree preferred but not required.
• State Food Handler's Management Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and complete recipes per standards.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
• Organize the kitchen under the direction of cooks, chefs, or food service managers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Prep Cook your responsibility is to perform routine tasks that include completing preparation of food and recipes, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and organizing the kitchen under the directions of cooks, chefs, or food service managers.

Requirements

• The position requires 1 year of full-service restaurant Kitchen cook experience. Internal candidates must be in good standing and free of performance issues including 1-year time-period. Combined work experience and education will be considered in decisions.
• Associate's degree in Culinary, Hospitality, Management, or Business preferred but not required
• State Food Handler's Management Certification is required
