Job summary

Sun Health Corporation is seeking a Prep Cook for Grandview Terrace in Sun City West, AZ. You will prepare items for standardized recipes, follow production sheets, maintain clean facilities, and help with food storage and safety procedures.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, ability to obtain a Food Handlers certificate, and prior cooking experience. You will use MS Office tools and participate in safety meetings and HACCP compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food Handlers certificate required.
• Previous cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Prepares items to be used in standardized recipes.
• Follows daily production sheets using outlined standards, accurate portioning, and correct temperature.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
• Keeps refrigerators, freezers, and storerooms clean and neat.
• Ensures food and supply items are stored and labeled per standards.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attends in-service and safety meetings.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure food safety.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations and procedures.
• Demonstrates Sun Health Vibrant Living culture and serves customers with Sun Health values.

Your Mission:

A Prep Cook prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times. Helps primarily with prepping food for fresh nutritional salads and assorted produce for salad bars and soups, catering and the production menus.

Your Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers certificate.
• Previous cooking experience preferred.
• Possess current or has the ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.
