Job summary

Montage International is seeking a Prep Cook to craft cold items and plate desserts in a luxurious hotel setting. You will follow sanitation standards, assist culinary staff, and contribute to creating WOW moments for guests.

Qualifications

  • One year minimum experience in a standalone restaurant or hotel environment is a plus.
  • Ability to follow kitchen standards and sanitation procedures.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced culinary setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all cold items including salads, dressings, and garnishes.
  • Maintain sanitation standards and culinary techniques.
  • Assist other cooks during service.
  • Collaborate with team to deliver guest expectations and WOW moments.
  • Perform additional duties as needed by business.

Your Journey
  • Responsible for preparation of all cold items to include, but not limited, salads, dressings, garnishes, and the plating of deserts
  • Maintain sanitation standards and culinary techniques to prepare food at the highest level, following kitchen standards
  • Assist Cooks as needed in the execution of service
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment all while maintaining professionalism
  • Deliver on guests’ expectations and have the desire to create WOW moments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that may be outside of the normal scope of duties based on business needs

Physical Requirements
  • Grasping, holding, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending over
  • Ability to stand and exercise mobility for extended periods of time during your scheduled shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and for extended periods during the shift
  • Ability to push and pull food serving equipment and carts weighing up to 200 pounds on a semi - regular basis
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F).
