Duffy's Prep Cook Job Description

Reports to: Chef

Job Summary: Responsible for preparing ingredients and stations used in cooking, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.

Major Areas Of Responsibility
  • Cut or slice meat, poultry, and seafood for cooking.
  • Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
  • Weigh, portion, and wrap food.
  • Follow prep list assigned by Chef.
  • Rotate food, label with date and time in coolers.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
  • Perform general kitchen cleaning.
  • Restock supplies.
  • Store food properly to prevent spoilage.
  • Stock storage areas and refrigerators.
  • Transport supplies and utensils.
  • Dispose of trash and clean garbage containers.
  • Report equipment issues and low supplies.
  • Assist other kitchen staff as needed.
  • Use manual or electric tools for food prep.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Maintain Food Handler's Certification.
  • Maintain professionalism with coworkers and customers.
