Job summary

The TRIO Community Meals team in Detroit, MI is seeking an experienced cook to join a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will handle food preparation, quality and portion control, presentation, and safe storage while maintaining high standards in a high-volume setting.

You’ll work with a motivated staff and contribute to scratch cooking, ensuring consistent, delicious meals for our guests. Food safety and customer service are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of culinary experience in a quality, high-volume establishment with emphasis on scratch cooking.
• Working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Food handlers’ certification is a nice-to-have.

We are looking to add an experienced cook to work with a highly motivated and energetic kitchen staff in our Detroit, MI location for our TRIO Community Meals division. As a cook for TRIO, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, efficient environment and cook delicious meals. What we're looking for

Must-haves:

• At least one years’ prior culinary experience in a quality and high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools as well as identify and differentiate food items.
• Customer service experience is required.
