Job summary

Arete is seeking dependable Prep Cooks to join our team in Des Moines, IA. You will support our client by preparing ingredients and helping cooks in a professional kitchen environment.

We offer a Monday–Friday schedule with two shift options. Pay is $18/hour; responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards. Authorized to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be available Monday - Friday and able to work one of the shifts.
• Previous food service or prep cook experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow recipes and food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for daily meals and menu items
• Wash, cut, portion, and prepare food according to recipes
• Assist cooks with meal preparation and kitchen duties
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation areas
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Properly store and label food items
• Assist with additional kitchen duties as needed

Schedule: Monday - Friday

• 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare ingredients for daily meals and menu items

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Reliable and dependable
• Previous food service or prep cook experience is a plus

• Must successfully complete required background check and drug screening
