The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated in White Plains, NY is seeking Prep Cooks to join a fast-paced, full-service kitchen. You’ll follow prep lists, read recipes, and prepare ingredients for hundreds of menu items while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Proficient with kitchen tools, equipment, and culinary techniques.
• Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and safety standards.
• Ability to multitask with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual with a positive attitude.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Follow a prep list and complete tasks efficiently with speed.
• Read and follow recipes with accurate measurements, weights, and portioning.
• Prepare ingredients using knife skills including chopping, dicing, and slicing.
• Use cooking methods including boiling, broiling, roasting, sautéing, frying, and grilling.
• Prepare ingredients for 200+ menu items including sauces, dressings, and soups.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, broilers, flat tops, grills, mixers, and slicers.
• Label, date, and rotate food using FIFO procedures.
• Follow instructions maintaining organization, safety standards, cleanliness, and sanitation.
• Adhere to food safety, food handling, and cross contamination prevention procedures.
• Support teamwork through clear, effective communication.
• Work well under pressure while maintaining high standards.

$17.00 - $20.50 / Hour

What You’ll Do

• Follow a prep list while completing tasks efficiently with speed and a sense of urgency

• Adhere to food safety, food handling, and cross contamination prevention procedures


• Support teamwork through clear, effective communication


• Work well under pressure while maintaining high standards

Your Background

• Prior kitchen experience in the food service industry preferred


• Proficient with kitchen tools, equipment, and culinary techniques, a plus
