Urbane Cafe is hiring Prep Cooks to support our kitchens in California. You will prep ingredients for salads, sandwiches and bowls, ensuring precise portions and consistency across dishes.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with high quality standards.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
• Stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Reliable with a positive, team-first attitude.
• Prior prep or kitchen experience is a plus, but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Prep ingredients for salads, sandwiches and bowls.
• Chop, slice, portion and prep with consistency.
• Follow recipes and prep lists to keep stock ready.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and uphold food safety.
• Communicate with team to anticipate needs and stay ahead of rush.
• Support kitchen operations wherever needed.

What You'll Do

• Prep and maintain the quantities of ingredients needed for our salads, sandwiches and bowls
• Chop, slice, portion and prep with consistency and attention to detail
• Follow recipes and prep lists to keep the kitchen stocked and ready for service
• Keep your workspace clean, organized and up to food safety standards at all times
• Communicate with the team to anticipate needs and stay ahead of the rush
• Jump in wherever the kitchen needs you
