Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. seeks a prenatal genetic counselor to work with families at increased risk for genetic conditions. You will perform risk assessments, provide education, and coordinate testing with follow-up counseling, under supervision within the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Responsibilities include documenting all visits, using EMR, and presenting cases at weekly conferences. Board certification eligible; LICENSING in PA/NJ (and DE if requested) preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Genetics Counseling required.
• Ability to assess family history and perform pedigree analyses.
• Strong patient education and psychosocial counseling skills.
• Experience coordinating genetic testing and interpreting results.
• Proficiency with EMR documentation and patient data management.

Responsibilities

• Assess family history, complete pedigrees, and counsel patients in cases of abnormal prenatal findings.
• Offer appropriate genetic testing and communicate results with follow-up counseling.
• Document all elements for new patient intake and result disclosures.
• Utilize EMR as required for Genetic Counselors and maintain patient data.
• Present cases at weekly conferences and pursue professional growth under supervision.
