Job summary

The Goddard School of Cary Lochmere in Cary, NC, is seeking a passionate Pre-K Teacher to join our team. We value supportive leadership, professional growth, and a collaborative culture that helps children thrive.

You will implement The Goddard School's Wonder of Learning curriculum, support social-emotional development, and work with a teaching partner to create a nurturing, kindergarten-ready classroom.

Qualifications

• Associate's or higher in early childhood education or related field.
• Bachelor's preferred; CDA credential acceptable in some cases.
• Experience in licensed childcare/preschool settings preferred.
• Strong communication with families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences using the Wonder of Learning curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences using The Goddard School's proprietary Wonder of Learning® curriculum
• Foster children's social-emotional development, independence, problem-solving skills, and kindergarten readiness
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with an experienced teaching partner to support student learning and classroom success
• Observe, assess, and document children's growth and development
• Maintain positive and professional communication with families regarding their child's progress and classroom experiences
• Use positive guidance strategies to support social-emotional growth and conflict resolution
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements
• Participate actively in professional development and school initiatives
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative culture among faculty and staff

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field required
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
• Previous experience working with preschool or pre-kindergarten-aged children in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early learning setting preferred
• Experience planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom activities preferred
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching partner and school leadership
• Excellent communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid NC Qualifying Letter
• Must meet all North Carolina childcare licensing and training requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with the care of children
