Overview
As an integral member of the Maintenance Team, the Predictive Maintenance Technician performs condition‑based monitoring to make proactive decisions to ensure asset reliability and improve production uptime.
Responsibilities
- Perform predictive maintenance inspections and data collection on assets using PDM technology such as vibration analysis, infrared imaging and ultrasound.
- Measure and perform laser alignment on shafts and belt sheaves; adjust as required utilizing shims and other steps to achieve precision alignment.
- Measure and perform balancing of spindles, fans and other assets using a tachometer and balancing software.
- Perform leak detection of air and gas utilizing ultrasonic technology.
- Analyze collected data from PDM inspections, sensors and oil analysis to report findings and make recommendations of corrective maintenance.
- Use data to identify required corrective maintenance, specifying issues such as misalignment, looseness or bearing failures.
- Develop and prepare reports to notify operations and maintenance of equipment health and recommend proactive maintenance.
- Determine assets that require oil analysis and collaborate with Maintenance Planning to recommend where PDM inspections and proactive maintenance are required.
- Work closely with Maintenance Technicians, Operations and Reliability Engineers to provide technical support and troubleshooting to solve asset issues.
- Perform root cause failure analysis, create failure analysis reports and provide recommendations on corrective actions for defect elimination on recurring problematic assets.
- Perform other responsibilities assigned by leadership as necessary.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Applications.
- Good mathematical and administrative skills.
- Clear and concise oral/write communication skills.
- Good organization, planning and multi‑tasking skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, prints and drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vibration analysis, infrared imaging, ultrasonic inspection, laser alignment experience.
- EAM/CMMS experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Precision maintenance.
- Data analysis and IoT experience.
Education & Experience
- Education: Technician or 2‑year degree.
- Experience: Industrial experience.
- System experience: Basic computer experience.

Physical & PPE Requirements
- Work at varying heights, including on rooftop of buildings.
- Lift up to 60 lbs. Push/pull 100 lbs.
- Stand on feet for long periods during a shift up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment: safety harness, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, cut‑proof gloves, face shield, high‑visibility vest, respirator (if required).
- Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises.
- Work in outdoor environments in all weather conditions; walk up and down steps multiple times; bend over multiple times.
Compensation
Starting hourly range: $26.00 – $30.75, adjusted by role, level and location.
