Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced ML/AI Data Scientist to design, build, train, evaluate, and deploy predictive models that solve business and operational problems in Dallas, TX. You will translate business needs into modeling objectives, engineer features, and implement end-to-end pipelines for production use.

The role requires strong statistics, Python, and ML framework experience (TensorFlow/PyTorch).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, CS, Engineering or related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in data science, ML, predictive analytics or related field.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, probability, experimental design, and ML fundamentals.
• Experience building predictive models from raw data through evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into ML and predictive modeling objectives.
• Collect, clean, transform, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, biases, and data quality issues.
• Develop predictive models from scratch: prep, feature engineering, training, validation, testing, and optimization.
• Build regression models for forecasting, risk scoring, pricing, and demand prediction.
• Build classification models for segmentation, fraud detection, churn, and anomaly detection.
• Tune hyperparameters and use cross-validation to improve generalization.
• Evaluate AI model performance and production monitoring; explain results to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, product teams to operationalize models.
• Stay current with ML developments and responsible AI practices.
