Job summary

STO Building Group in Seattle seeks a Preconstruction Manager to lead or support preconstruction activities across multiple projects from RFQ through construction start. This role emphasizes risk mitigation and value maximization during the design and preconstruction phase.

The candidate will coordinate with VP of Acquisition, Director of Preconstruction, Project Executives and Managers to ensure goals are met and schedules are proactively managed.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Marketing and/or Communications or related field.
• 3–5 years in a preconstruction role; >10 years in construction overall.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business materials; strong written communication.

Responsibilities

• Champion the importance of preconstruction and collaboration across teams.
• Track status of preconstruction projects monthly and report to VP Acquisition.
• Audit projects in preconstruction to identify needs and risks.
• Ensure proactive communication across project teams; lead conversations for accountability.
• Align risks, margins, schedules and manpower as projects transition to construction.
• Develop win strategies for projects and for preconstruction issues.
• Mentor teams on Target Value Delivery and best practices.
• Participate in project estimates reviews and proposal content.
• Attend OAC meetings and business development events.
