Job summary

Markent Personnel, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a seasoned Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating and preconstruction for large multi-family residential, apartment, and senior housing projects.

You will own the estimation process from takeoffs to cost presentation, building strong industry relationships and delivering clear cost strategies to clients. This role focuses on value engineering, bidding and procurement, scheduling, and quality control of estimates, with relocation assistance

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience specifically in large multi-family residential, apartments, HUD, OFHA, and senior housing estimating.
• Deep understanding of current market pricing and unit pricing.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead, create, and finalize comprehensive project estimates.
• Research specified materials, source alternatives, and develop value engineering ideas with associated costs.
• Build qualified subcontractor bid lists, proactively call subcontractors to secure bids, and analyze submitted bids and scopes.
• Develop preliminary preconstruction schedules and determine project staffing and general condition requirements.
• Complete detailed On-Screen Takeoffs.
• Prepare professional presentation documents and clearly present cost information to clients.
• Review, analyze, and correct estimates prepared by other team members.
