Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead all estimating activities from programmatic intent through pricing for assigned projects.

You will feasibly perform feasibility studies, budgeting from concept to bid, and value engineering, presenting results to clients and internal teams. The role requires 5–7 years in estimating with a bachelor’s degree in a related field, strong communication, and ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field is required.
• Read construction drawings and specifications and identify missing elements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

• Analyze market and trade trends.
• Understand geotechnical reports.
• Coordinate with stakeholders throughout design-assist process as HITT representative.
• Provide oversight to Assistant Preconstruction Manager/Assistant Estimator.
• Make and influence decisions under tight deadlines and incomplete information.
• Exhibit business sense and forge partnerships with subcontractors; analyze risk.
• Distribute documents without administrative support.

Responsibilities

• Providing complete suite of estimating services described above with minimal oversight
• Estimating a variety of building types
• Managing multiple projects and deadlines, with ability to prioritize and complete tasks
• Presenting technical and financial information to stakeholders, including changes from previously presented information
• Majority of the work is completed in an office environment; visits to jobsites as necessary; wear safety equipment per policy

Estimating services include feasibility studies, budgets from conceptual design to bidding, comparative studies, value engineering and presentation of the same to both internal and external clients.
